ESL Teacher. Media professional. Traveler. Self-proclaimed foodie. Certified Bruno Mars fan. Currently finishing her Master of Education degree in Second Language Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto, Karen was a Fine Arts Cultural Studies major at York University in Toronto before packing up her bags to teach English in South Korea and Japan. In her six years of EFL teaching and travelling, Karen had worked for various companies such as The Yachimata Board of Education, BMW-Chiba, Samsung, Hyundai-Kia, Kimberly-Clark, Ernst and Young, and South Korea's top boarding school/high school Korean Minjok Leadership Academy. Teaching and travelling have solidified her interests in languages and media. She returned to Toronto in 2010 and finished a post graduate certificate in Children’s Entertainment, Production and Management program at Centennial College. She has since worked for TVOKids creating digital media content and teaching ESL students. She can be seen perusing eats, treats and streets in Toronto.
